BBDC vs CDC vs SSDC: Choosing a Class 2B Driving Centre
How the three Singapore driving centres compare for Class 2B learners: location, booking, lesson structure and cost, and how to choose between them.
Class 2B is taught at three driving centres. They follow the same Traffic Police syllabus and test standard, so the choice comes down to location, booking availability and price.

| Location | Bukit Batok (west) | Ubi (east) | Woodlands (north) |
Location matters more than anything
You will visit your centre for theory lessons, at least eight practical lessons (often 20 or more), three simulator sessions, tests and the expressway ride. A centre 20 minutes away instead of an hour saves you a full day of travel over the course.
Evening slots can finish close to 10 pm (SSDC’s last slot ends at 9:50 pm), so check how easily you can get home afterwards.
Lesson structure and names differ slightly
The core sequence is the same everywhere: theory, circuit stages, simulator, road lessons 6 to 8, then the test. The details differ.
- CDC runs its theory lessons over Zoom and calls its practice test the Internal Evaluation.
- SSDC has seven classroom theory lessons and calls its practice test the Theory Trial Test.
- BBDC splits circuit stages into numbered lessons (for example, slope and hazard course in one lesson, plank or slalom and emergency braking in another).
Each centre’s circuit has its own layout, so videos from your own centre are the most useful.
Price differences are small
Lesson fees at the three centres sit within a few dollars of each other. Across a whole course, the difference between centres is usually smaller than the cost of two or three extra circuit lessons. See the full Class 2B cost breakdown.
Questions to ask before you enrol
- How far ahead are circuit lessons and Traffic Police test slots booked right now?
- How many cancellations can I make without a penalty?
- Are there self-practice sessions on the circuit, and are they free?
- How long is the course valid, and what does an extension cost?
Frequently asked questions
Which driving centre is best for Class 2B?
All three follow the same Traffic Police syllabus and test. The best choice for most people is the centre closest to home or work, because travel time adds up over 20 or more visits.
Can I switch driving centres halfway?
Your lesson records and enrolment are tied to one centre, so switching usually means paying a new enrolment fee and may mean repeating stages. Pick carefully at the start.
Is the test easier at one centre?
No. The Traffic Police set the same standard at every centre. What differs is the circuit layout and road routes, which you will learn at your own centre.
